Here's What you'll Learn... ... about Angles & Positioning
Learn where you need to be in order to have the best possible
chance of making every save. Learn how to minimize the amount of net the shooter has to shoot
at. Learn how to determine in advance exactly where you need to
be. Learn to develop consistency to the point where you, the goaltender,
are actually controlling the play. Learn how to refocus and stay in the game after giving up a
goal. Learn how to protect yourself from common, game-threatening
distractions. Learn how to minimize your reliance on defensemen and make it
easier for them to help you. Learn to track your positioning on a period-to-period basis
in order to make immediate adjustments. Learn the on-ice and off-ice drills you'll need to put it all
together so that you can tell the difference between playing well
and simply getting lucky.

" ...to use a baseball analogy: too many goalies are standing
too far away from the plate and then wondering why they are having
trouble hitting. Then we hear the coach in the background saying
to the kid - well Johnny, I guess you better go and work on your
swing! Its the same thing in the net. Too many goalies are way
off angle and out of position and the coach is suggesting to go
out and work on their save technique. In reality, the Coach really
isn't sure what to tell you. They figure that if 100 shots in
practice are good for you then 1000 will make you better. All
this does is to reinforce old habits. I want the goaltender in
the best possible position to make the save. Then we will worry
about save technique. You see, if you are in the right place at
the right time, you can stand on your head and still make 70%
of the saves. However, knowing where the right place is and how
to get there in time is the real challenge. We will teach you
a system that you can not only count on but easily put it into
play in the short amount of time you have in your typical game
situation." -Stefan Popa
